 Ophthalmic Nurses/ODPs play an important role in the efficient and safe running of our services.

 The role supports both theatres &amp; outpatients across a range of clinics including general, pre- and post-operative assessment as well as playing a key role on the day of theatre by supporting the preparation for patients as well as acting in the circulating role and assisting in the safe transfer and positioning of the patient.

   Up-to-date proficient Scrub skills for high-volume cataract surgery.

   Undertaking duties as assembling, checking, preparing, and coordinating the use of surgical equipment, and consumables for Ophthalmology procedures.

   Ability to set up for vitrectomy surgery.
  </li>
  <li>
   Full understanding of Phaco Machines/Instrumentation and set up.

   Full knowledge of the eye and understanding of Biometry/Lens bank/Implants.

   Ability to support the surgeon in anticipating any potential problems in theatre.
