<p>Mercado’s Dumpster Service is a family owned and operated business established in 1996 in Charlotte, NC. Mercado’s offers a comprehensive range of services to customers from dumpster rentals and service; to include service for our subsidiary company Purple Heart Portable Restrooms.</p><p>The Frontload Driver will be expected to safely operate refuse collection trucks for our various collection routes. These special, preassigned routes include providing prompt and courteous pick-up service of containers filled with waste or recyclable material, as well as pre and post truck inspections and cleaning. This work is performed under direct supervision, observation, and guidance of the Operations Manager.</p><h3>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h3><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following tasks:</p><ul><li>Operates vehicle in accordance with Mercado’s Safety Guidelines and OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.</li><li>Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).</li><li>Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager.</li><li>Able to effectively use equipment/technology required to perform the job.</li><li>Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by Mercado’s or directed by the Operations Manager.</li><li>Works closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.</li><li>Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.</li><li>Notifies Operations Manager of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.</li><li>Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager.</li><li>Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement.</li><li>Ensures the number of containers on the route reconciles to the service level listed on service list.</li><li>Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer’s location clean and free of debris that may have fallen during the operation.</li><li>Completes and submits customer tickets as required when excessive yardage must be removed.</li><li>Positions and returns containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, enclosure doors are closed and secured, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.</li><li>Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.</li><li>Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.</li></ul><h3>Job Type</h3><p>Full-time</p><h3>Salary</h3><p>$23.00 - $25.00 per hour</p><h3>Experience</h3><p>Commercial driving: 2 years (Preferred)</p><h3>License/Certification</h3><p>Commercial Driver's License Air Brake Endorsement</p><h3>Schedule</h3><ul><li>10 hour shift</li><li>8 hour shift</li><li>Day shift</li><li>Holidays</li><li>Home daily</li><li>Monday to Friday</li><li>Overtime</li><li>Weekend availability</li></ul><h3>Work Environment</h3><p>Listed below are key points regarding the physical requirements, and work environment of the job. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.</p><ul><li>Must be able to drive a frontload loading refuse trucks, observing legal and defensive driving practices.</li><li>Required motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.</li><li>Hear and see in the normal audio range with or without correction.</li><li>Physically able to bend continuously at the waist and knees.</li><li>To perform the essential functions of the job, the following physical abilities are required: exhibit normal range of body motion, ability to enter and exit repetitively, commercial truck to open doors to corrals and move dumpsters on casters as needed; ensure corral is closed after service, ability to climb to top of commercial truck to verify that the load is secured prior to transporting the load to the landfill.</li><li>Ability to regularly push or pull independently (unassisted) up to 50 pounds routinely, and frequently push or pull up to 100 pounds.
