We need the best minds to provide the information edge, continuing NGA's role as the premier provider of Geospatial Intelligence worldwide.</p><p>Know the World, Show the Way ... from Seabed to Space!</p><h3>Assignment Description</h3><p>ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: Imagery Analysts maintain and build tasking strategies, and analyze and interpret imagery to support U.S. military and policymaker interests. They analyze the activities and interests of countries, regions, and non-state entities, as well as the impact of natural and man-made disasters. In addition, these analysts conduct multi-INT research, populate and exploit intelligence databases, and produce and disseminate intelligence products.</p><h3>Promotion Opportunity</h3><p>PROMOTION OPPORTUNITY: Promotion opportunities allow applicants at all band levels to be considered. Qualifications for NGA positions do not include specific time-in-band requirements. NGA will emphasize quality of experience, rather than duration, and assess how the quality of the experience demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance in the NGA occupational structure.</p><h3>Additional Information</h3><p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This NGA officer will apply leadership and analytic experience to lead Target Coordinate Mensuration (TCM) tool validation production and mission responsibilities filling a critical role for the entire Joint Targeting enterprise. The officer will present complex analysis in a logical, clear, collaborative and concise manner using the full scope of NGA and IC reporting and collaboration mechanisms to high level internal and external audiences. The officer will guide NGA's Analytic Team as it applies diverse analytic techniques to ensure precise custom geospatial intelligence and geographic content for verification and validation of targeting software tools in support of the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) and Allied system for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG) targeting communities. The officer will initiate, participate in and support expert and senior-level outreach and collaborative activities with partners across the Agency, DoD, and the Intelligence Community, as well as with industry and academia, to help further strategic understanding of targeting GEOINT issues and capabilities.</p><h3>Additional Application Requirement</h3><p>You may be asked to complete one or more assessments in addition to the application you submit on this website as part of your application to NGA. Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement:</p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience applying imagery to research, analysis, database systems, or geospatial information systems.</li><li>Demonstrated experience developing and presenting oral and written briefings to meet the needs of audiences of various technical backgrounds.</li><li>Demonstrated experience using critical thinking skills and/or data analytics to address matters of national concern.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in managing technical programs to include but not limited to; project prioritization, agile production efforts and resource management.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in leading a team of analysts managing analytic production or data gathering.</li></ul><h3>EDUCATION REQUIREMENT</h3><p>A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Foreign Area Studies, Geography, History, International Affairs, International Studies, Military Science, Physical Science, Political Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience working in an Intelligence discipline analyzing and interpreting imagery and maintaining and building tasking strategies, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience working in an Intelligence discipline analyzing and interpreting imagery and maintaining and building tasking strategies, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.</p><h3>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT</h3><p>Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/20 or better with or without corrective lenses; Hand steadiness; Stereopsis ability</p><h3>ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENT</h3><p>Prolonged exposure to video display units</p><h3>Qualifications Desirable</h3><p>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:</p><ul><li>Experience using geospatial data in analytic processes, techniques, or tools.</li><li>Experience with intelligence production and/or publication processes.</li><li>Experience in a related work role for the federal government, specifically the military, Combat Commands and/or Intelligence Community.</li><li>Knowledge of Joint Targeting Cycle and the Joint Targeting Enterprise.</li><li>Experience using GIS tools, models, or applications.</li></ul><h3>Special Info External</h3><p>As a condition of employment at NGA, persons being considered for employment must meet NGA fitness for employment standards.</p><p>- U.S. Citizenship Required</p><p>- Security Clearance (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information)</p><p>- Polygraph Test Required</p><p>- Position Subject to Drug Testing</p><p>- Two Year Probationary Period</p><p>- Direct Deposit Required</p><h3>Applicant Evaluation Process</h3><p>APPLICANT EVALUATION PROCESS: Applicants will be evaluated for this job opportunity in three stages:</p><ul><li>All applicants will be evaluated using the Mandatory Qualification Criteria,</li><li>Qualified applicants will then be evaluated by an expert or panel of experts using a combination of qualification criteria to determine the best-qualified candidates,</li><li>Best-qualified applicants may then be further evaluated through an interview process.</li></ul><p>Military retiree applicants, if selected, may be impacted by the 180-day appointment restrictions of DODI 1402.01.
