  SUMMARY:
 </strong>
 Candy Mountain Academy is seeking a School Social Worker/Behavior Interventionist to work within our program. The primary mission of this position will be to reduce barriers to success that our students face from a variety of aspects in their lives. They will connect students and families with community programs that will promote healthy coping skills in school and at home. They are responsible for participating in the development of educational programs for all students, connecting students and their families with community resources, and providing short-term counseling to individuals and groups. This position will be part of Candy Mountain Academy&rsquo;s internal crisis response team, responding to students who are experiencing dysregulation for a variety of reasons and helping to de-escalate them so that they can learn.

  Essential Functions
  <br/>
  <br/>
 </strong>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Participate as a member of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team for all students in the program
  </li>
  <li>
   Serve as the liaison between home, school, and the community
  </li>
  <li>
   Identify strengths and needs of students, family, and the community
  </li>
  <li>
   Utilize evidence-based, data-driven interventions for individualized responses to behavior
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide direct mental health and social emotional services in the form of individual/group counseling or whole class lessons
  </li>
  <li>
   Assist with staff training, including training in the identification of high-risk youth and effective interaction within the academic setting
  </li>
  <li>
   Participate in crisis intervention by responding to student in the school community who needs immediate support for physical and/or psychological safety
  </li>
  <li>
   Conduct assessment of needs for individual students and their families
  </li>
  <li>
   Conduct risk assessment, intervention, and postvention services
  </li>
  <li>
   Coordinate and monitor referrals of families to out of program community services
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide case management for student and families as needed
  </li>
  <li>
   Advocate and develop systems that better meet the needs of students and families
  </li>
  <li>
   Work within the program and outside of the program to leverage and maximize community resources
  </li>
  <li>
   Follow all applicable Board policies and procedures
  </li>

  Qualifications

   Master&rsquo;s Degree in related field preferred (i.e. Social Work, Counseling, Special Ed Teacher).
  </li>
  <li>
   Hold or be eligible to hold a Washington State ESA or Teaching Certificate.
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience in community behavioral health working with youth and families.
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience as a Certified School Social Worker preferred.
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience building partnerships within the community for family and mental health support.
  </li>
  <li>
   WSP/ FBI background clearance required.

  Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

 Work is performed primarily in an school/classroom environment; however, travel is required to local school districts and program sites, and for workshops, committee representation and conferences at local, regional, and state level. Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required. Lifts and carries a maximum of 35 pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position which may include the use of physical restraint.
