<div> <p> <strong> Job Description </strong> </p> <p> <br/> </p> <p> We provide services to industries and governments in the U.S. and around the world to assess the consequences and risks associated with potentially catastrophic events including explosions, fires and toxic material releases. Our research and development programs make us a technology leader with the most advanced methodologies and tools to predict potential consequences, analyze risk, and design protection, prevention, and mitigation systems for such catastrophic events. </p> <p> <br/> </p> <p> Candidates for the position should possess at least a bachelor’s degree in materials, metallurgical, or mechanical engineering. A master’s degree or PhD would be preferred. Registered as a professional engineer is required. The candidate should have from 6 to 12 years of experience in establishing mechanical integrity controls, and performing failure analysis, life assessments, and incident investigations. </p> <p> <br/> </p> <p> Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills that will be used when interacting with technical personnel, government agencies, and managers. The candidate should have experience establishing mechanical integrity and inspection programs. The individual should have experience working with various structural materials and understand basic failure mechanisms and fracture behavior. </p> <p> <br/> </p> <p> The candidate should be familiar with the following: </p> <ul> <li> Standard metallurgical lab equipment </li> <li> Polishing practices </li> <li> Optical and scanning electron microscopes </li> <li> Material testing </li> <li> Inspection techniques </li> </ul> <p> <br/> </p> <p> Key responsibilities shall include: </p> <ul> <li> Performing failure analysis </li> <li> Engineering and inspection reviews </li> <li> Assisting with mechanical integrity audits </li> <li> Performing fitness-for-service life assessments </li> <li> Risk evaluations </li> <li> Participating in on-site accident and incident investigations of industrial locations </li> <li> Initiating promotional activities </li> <li> Overseeing and performing laboratory testing, as needed </li> <li> Conducting research and development </li> <li> Writing and presenting findings from investigations </li> <li> Providing legal and consulting services, as needed </li> </ul> <p> <br/> </p> <p> The individual should have experience working with various </p> <ul> <li> Metal alloy systems </li> <li> Polymeric materials </li> <li> Coatings </li> </ul> <p> <br/> </p> <p> In addition, the candidate should have experience working with industrial equipment including </p> <ul> <li> Piping </li> <li> Pressure vessels </li> <li> Rotating and fixed equipment </li> </ul> <p> </p> </div>
