   About this job:

  The role holder, based in Charlotte, NC, will join the global analytics team within Life &amp; Health, and should make a significant contribution to the enhancement of PartnerRe Life &amp; Health&rsquo;s value proposition.
 </p>
 <p>
  They will be responsible for providing advice and expertise to internal and external clients, via:
 </p>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Import and analysis of data to estimate targets associated with disability, mortality, and longevity (and their drivers)
  </li>
  <li>
   Development &amp; deployment of predictive models
  </li>
  <li>
   Effective data driven storytelling
  </li>
  <li>
   Consultative activities related to analysis of data
  </li>
  <li>
   Research and product development on application of analytic techniques to existing and new product areas
  </li>
  <li>
   Development of self and others on analytic techniques
  </li>
  <li>
   Internal and external presentations and publications.

   About you:

 </p>
 <p>
  You will be a technically excellent thought leader and individual contributor with relevant experience and expertise, and an ability to be pragmatic and demonstrate commercial sense. A desire to experience new and challenging areas is a key requirement.
 </p>
 <p>
  The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of working in a dynamic, culturally diverse international environment. They will be able to lead complex developments and projects independently, but will also be an effective team player ready to meet the business needs.
 </p>
 <p>
  The individual must be adept at handling practical data sets so that questions posed by the business can be addressed within short timescales.
 </p>
 <p>
  <strong>

    Experience/Skills:
   </u>
  </strong>
 </p>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Statistical skills normally acquired though graduate level education
  </li>
  <li>
   Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in a business setting.
  </li>
  <li>
   Practical experience in statistical analysis of data and predictive modeling using the R programming language (especially tidyverse)
  </li>
  <li>
   Breadth and depth are required (survival analysis, discrete data, regression-like methods, modern ML (tree-based) methods, etc.)
  </li>
  <li>
   Familiarity with Linux, SQL and/or Shiny is desirable
  </li>
  <li>
   Life and/or Health insurance industry strongly desirable
  </li>
  <li>
   (re)Insurance experience is a plus but not required
  </li>
  <li>
   Corporate language is English; additional languages are beneficial
  </li>
 </ul>

  The position is based in PartnerRe&rsquo;s Charlotte office, but occasional travel maybe expected.
