  Job Summary

 </strong>
 To supervise the providence of medical care for student-athletes participating in the interscholastic program under the medical direction of the student-athletes physicians and the non-medical administrative direction of the Athletic Director. To act as consultant to the head coaches and athletic administrators in the area of preventative of avoidable athletics injuries as well as supervising the treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning of injured athletes.

  Essential Duties
  <br/>
  <br/>
 </strong>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Provides primary medical care and referral to appropriate allied health professionals for injuries incurred while participating in sports and for illnesses occurring during such participation.
  </li>
  <li>
   Implements and administers therapy, rehabilitation and reconditioning regimens for the student-athletes.
  </li>
  <li>
   Maintains complete and accurate injury, treatment and rehabilitation records of student-athletes.
  </li>
  <li>
   Formulates and manages the Athletic Training budget request and inventory control. To include monies for injury preventative devices, medical supplies, therapy and rehabilitation equipment.
  </li>
  <li>
   Development of training room rules and the conduct of student-athletes while in the training room.
  </li>
  <li>
   Communicates needs and maintenance of facilities and equipment to the athletics director.
  </li>
  <li>
   Educates and supervises student athletic trainers.
  </li>
  <li>
   Communicates with parents/guardians or relatives concerning injured student-athletes.
  </li>
  <li>
   Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign.

  Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And/or Abilities Required)

 Must be a licensed member of the National Athletic Trainer&rsquo;s Association. Must have a Baccalaureate degree and technical and practical experience in the proper application and supervision of a variety of physical therapy and/or diagnostic equipment. Technical and practical experience in utilizing various types of isometrics, isotonic, and isokinetic rehabilitation equipment. Ability to use basic diagnostic medical equipment such as a stethoscope and sphygmomanometer. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
