<div> <strong> Job Overview <br/> <br/> </strong> An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an inspirational Consultant in Public Health / Deputy Director of Public Health to join the team within the Public Health Directorate, to provide expert leadership for population health and wellbeing in Mid and West Wales. The post holder will havea key leadership role in strategic planning& implementation and performance aligned to population health across Hywel Dda. The y will work closely with the Senior Leadership team within the Health Board and with the Executive team on behalf of the Executive Director of Public Health (DPH) to ensure public health approaches are embedded into all relevant workstreams. They will provide Consultant level leadership across the Directorate forthe Hywel Dda area. I n addition will be managerially responsible foranystaff who may beappointedtodeliverpublichealth work within the remit of this post. <br/> <br/> <strong> Main duties of the job <br/> <br/> </strong> Provide public health leadership at the highest level including information, advice and support for population health. <br/> <br/> Be responsible for ensuring public health leadership and delivery in outcomes-based planning and commissioning within the UHB. They will work closely with other deputy directors and assistant directors across the organisation. <br/> <br/> On behalf of the Executive Director of Public Health take an active role in strengthening the integrated partnership strategies, working closely with local authority partners, Public Services Boards, the Regional Partnership Board and other partners in progressing outcomes-based approaches. <br/> <br/> Be responsible for ensuring public health drive, influence, and input to our partnership arenas to enable health improvement. <br/> <br/> Demonstrate systems leadership for tackling inequalities in health in our local population. <br/> <br/> Provide leadership to actively support the delivery of the Health Board’s corporate strategies, ensuring a strong population focus, working closely with the directorate business management team. <br/> <br/> Lead for needs-based clinical pathways, with a focus on early and targeted interventions and shifting services upstream. <br/> <br/> Promote and drive whole systems approaches for population benefit. <br/> <br/> Develop partnerships and influence to enable wide participation in improving health of the local population. <br/> <br/> Work closely with the information function within the organisation in strengthening the public health intelligence capacity and capability. <br/> <br/> <strong> Working for our organisation <br/> <br/> </strong> Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through: <br/> <br/> Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest; <br/> <br/> Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire; <br/> <br/> 47 general practices (6 of which are managed practices), 45 dental practices (including 4 orthodontic), 96 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres; <br/> <br/> Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services; <br/> <br/> Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales. </div>
