<div> <strong> Job Overview <br/> <br/> </strong> The post holder will work within the ENT service for Hywel Dda Health Board. <br/> <br/> The post holder will be involved in the management of all ENT patients, both in-patients and emergencies. <br/> <br/> The exact pattern of work will be established once the posts are appointed. <br/> <br/> The post holders will participate in the on call rota. Normally this will be second on call. However in exceptional circumstances when unforeseen problems arise with first on call cover, it may be necessary to require the doctor to provide first on call cover. <br/> <br/> There are close relationships with the Nursing Staff in the Day Care Unit, Wards, Outpatients and Accident and Emergency Unit. During the course of your duties it will be necessary to liaise with professional and clinical staff of Pathology, X-ray, ECG, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Social Work Departments. <br/> <br/> Supervision of all admissions to the Wards, Clinical investigation, diagnosis and treatment of all medical patients admitted to the General Surgical Wards and Central Treatment Suite. The duties also involve maintaining patient's clinical notes and discharge summaries . <br/> <br/> <strong> Main duties of the job <br/> <br/> </strong> To ensure the provision and delivery of a first class 7 day ENT service <br/> <br/> To provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty <br/> <br/> To sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate <br/> <br/> To undertake all work in accordance with the Health Board’s procedures and operating policies <br/> <br/> To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Health Board’s service plans <br/> <br/> To maintain the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty or the Health Board <br/> <br/> Core clinical expertise in ENT <br/> <br/> Leadership and team building skills as well as working as part of a multidisciplinary team <br/> <br/> Supporting and training multidisciplinary teams <br/> <br/> Delivering care in the community alongside primary health care and social care teams <br/> <br/> Providing persuasive strategic advice to LHB’s and Social Services Departments <br/> <br/> Addressing the Intermediate Care Agenda <br/> <br/> Participating in CPD including Audit <br/> <br/> You are expected to maintain your professional development for Revalidation <br/> <br/> A Teaching and Training Role for medical undergraduates and postgraduates <br/> <br/> To assist with role to Junior Grade Medical Staff <br/> <br/> To undertake regular multidisciplinary clinical audit and provide evidence based medicine <br/> <br/> <strong> Working for our organisation <br/> <br/> </strong> Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.
