<div> <p> <strong> Management of Teachers and Teaching </strong> </p> <p> <br/> </p> <p> You will manage and lead a team of teachers at your centre/zone, for whom you are to: </p> <p> <br/> </p> <ul> <li> provide guidance and mentoring to ensure that your teachers’ professional behaviour and teaching practices uphold the highest level of academic excellence, which includes not only consistently exemplary teaching in alignment with TLL’s teaching and learning framework, but also timely and effective parent communication and engagement. </li> <li> work with the Lead Subject Head to continually improve teaching for your discipline subject at your assigned centre/zone as well as assist in this at other centres where necessary through training, coaching, mentoring and supervision of teachers to ensure that standards are consistently maintained across TLL. </li> <li> use positive communication strategies to ensure that your team of teachers feels engaged and valued in the TLL community, understand their responsibilities, the values that TLL espouses, the directions of the company, and participate actively to enable company processes and directives to be carried out successfully. </li> <li> work with your Academic Director and the Subject Heads at your centre to ensure that there is parity and equity in teacher management at the centre/zone in regard to teaching performance issues, challenges with scheduling, leave, and other personnel issues. </li> <li> As expected of all managers, SHs’ responsibilities include performance management and appraisal, the goal of which is to ensure that teachers are guided in understanding how to work towards consistently high standards of professional behaviour and work performance. </li> </ul> <p> <br/> </p> <p> <strong> Parent and Student Management </strong> </p> <p> <br/> </p> <ul> <li> To build strong relationships with the parents and households through timely and planned implementation of communication strategies and processes at your centre, including but not limited to feedback cases and student progress reports. </li> <li> To help the Academic Director monitor the implementation of Child Protection guidelines and maintain compliance with health and safety standards and implement changes where necessary. </li> <li> To reduce cases of parent dissatisfaction regarding teacher behaviour or performance, failing which, you should liaise with teachers regarding such cases, including arrangement of observations and communication with parents, where appropriate. </li> </ul> <p> <br/> </p> <p> <strong> Curriculum Quality and Fidelity </strong> </p> <ul> <li> To develop and maintain strong and current knowledge of your teachers’ practices and enactment of the curriculum in the classroom, and to be able to act as a catalyst of change in improving curriculum materials by providing strong channels of feedback from your team of teachers to the curriculum team. </li> <li> To ensure that curriculum materials provide your team of teachers with strong teaching resources that meet customer needs, preferences and expectations, you are to work with the LSH and the other SHs within your discipline to provide useful, implementable feedback to the respective subject curriculum teams in a timely manner. </li> <li> To participate in curriculum-TDQM [Teacher Development and Quality Management] led initiatives that drive positive change and adoption of best practices, and to ensure that such initiatives are translated into improvements to the teaching practices of your team of teachers. </li> </ul> <p> <br/> </p> <p> <strong> Business Needs and Operations </strong> </p> <p> <br/> </p> <ul> <li> To use your educational knowledge and teaching expertise to contribute towards enrolment, student retention and re-registration targets, through performance management, in regard to teaching parent communication and professional conduct. You are also expected to participate in marketing initiatives including giving webinars, parent seminars and hosting open houses. </li> <li> To work collaboratively with the centre operations team on the day-to-day operational management of the centre, providing support for any operational issues that may impact teaching. </li> </ul> <p> <br/> </p> <p> <strong> Other Responsibilities </strong> </p> <p> <br/> </p> <ul> <li> To teach approximately 10 hours per week, including covering classes where the teachers are absent due to annual, medical or other leave. </li> <li> To undertake responsibilities and tasks assigned by senior management and CEO to further TLL’s business goals </li> <li> To participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new teachers. </li> </ul> <p> <br/> </p> <p> <strong> Snapshots of our ideal candidate: </strong> </p> <p> <br/> </p> <ul> <li> Degree in a specific discipline or Education, recognised teaching qualification, preferably with Ministry of Education or equivalent experience. </li> <li> Academic credibility with a track record of excellence in teaching, with at least 4 years’ of experience, preferably at TLL, and with both Primary and Secondary teaching experience preferred. </li> <li> Interest in developing academic leadership and education management skills, </li> <li> Ability to build good rapport across all levels, demonstrating strong organisational knowledge, good communication and interpersonal skills. </li> <li> Sound understanding of national curriculum, parent expectations. </li> <li> Resilient under pressure. </li> <li> Ability to engage parents and students. </li> <li> Comfortable with ambiguity, and the demands of working in a business-oriented fast paced environment. </li> <li> Willingness to work on Saturday and/or Sunday, if required. </li> </ul> </div>
