Job Description
Senior Civil Design Engineer – Land Development KB Engineers, LLC. is seeking a passionate, self-starting, and highly skilled Civil Engineer, with over 10 years (+) of experience. This is an exceptional opportunity to represent some of the leading land developers in the area, in primarily Butler, Beaver, Allegheny Counties. You’ll be involved in every step of the process, from conceptual layouts to construction management of your own projects. Why KB Engineers? KB Engineers was formed just 1 year ago by two PE’s, and one of the largest land developers in the area. Although we had been working together for over 20 years, we finally came together with a premise – to join forces, provide our skills to create the finest Land Development services we know how to accomplish. This “experiment” has taken off and we need some quality people to join our team. As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible to complete, or be taught to provide: * Provide complete initial analysis of the subject property being examined for potential development, including the examination of local ordinances, State and Federal regulation. Prepare conceptual layouts. * Utilize initial concept designs to produce preliminary street designs with AutoCAD, Civil 3D roadway design. * Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities. * Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters. * Prepare NPDES drainage design, and design application package. * Perform field investigations and assessments of project sites. * Prepare Local, County, PennDOT, DEP, COE, permit submittals. * Prepare Conditional Use, Variance applications, and Rezoning applications. Additional Position requirements: * PA PE licensure, or equivalent experience. * A solid grasp of relevant municipal development codes and standards. * Competent use of Microsoft Office products. * Excellent communication skills, experience in representing developments in front of local Planning Commissions, Supervisors, Councils, Zoning Hearing Boards a plus. * Ability to utilize AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Hydraflow (VT/PSUHM, or other H/H software), Stream Stats, or HEC-RAS. * Knowledge of PennDOT methods and procedures for roadway and drainage design preferred.
