We are actively seeking a Stress Engineer (Entry Level) in our Engineering Department, reporting to the Structures Engineering Lead

Summary:
The Stress Engineer is a member of the engineering team who is responsible for verifying the structural integrity of helicopters and ensuring designs comply with the strict safety and performance standards set forth by regulatory agencies. The Stress Engineer accomplishes this role by performing classical analyses and conducting static and fatigue tests on aircraft structures and systems in support of design, development, and certification.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure structural integrity by conducting static stress, stiffness, stability, and fatigue analysis of aircraft primary and secondary structures using a combination of classical hand calculations, numerical simulation modeling, and testing.
* Identify, plan, and conduct structural tests for components, assemblies, and aircraft in the laboratory, ground, and flight test environments as necessary to include test planning, conformity, instrumentation, test conduct, data analysis, and issue resolution.
* Interface with other engineers to determine the loads and operating environment for design elements and resolve issues found during development and certification.
* Resolve complex structures and loads through modeling and analysis.
* Validate designs to ensure they meet customer expectations, design objectives, and the requirements set forth by 14 CRF Part 27.
* Utilize test data to suggest improvements for future designs.
* Develop processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the work.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
* Strong understanding of methods to perform classical hand calculations for stress analyses.
* Experience with computational methods for stress analysis.
* Strong understanding of aircraft design principles, structures, and loads.
* Experience designing, conducting, and reporting on structural tests.
* Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with strong problem-solving skills.
* Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others.
Desired Qualifications:
* Understanding of aircraft certification processes and requirements.
* Hands-on experience with FEM/FEA software, preferably ANSYS.
* Experience with static and fatigue analysis of helicopter structures.
* FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or ODA Unit Member (UM).
