Position Overview
 CME Associates is seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in Howell, NJ. This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with up to 5 years of experience. The successful candidate will work on a variety of civil engineering projects, including site development, transportation, and municipal infrastructure.
   
  
Responsibilities
Project Design and Development:
* Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects such as roadways, stormwater management systems, and site layouts.
* Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates under the supervision of senior engineers.
* Conduct site visits and field investigations to collect data and assess project conditions.
Technical Analysis And Problem Solving
* Perform technical calculations and analyses to support project designs.
* Utilize engineering software for modeling and simulations to optimize project outcomes.
* Identify and propose solutions to engineering challenges encountered during project execution.
Regulatory Compliance
* Ensure project designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications and related documentation.
* Stay informed about relevant regulatory changes and industry standards.
Collaboration And Communication
* Work collaboratively with project teams, including engineers, architects, and construction managers.
* Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements are met.
* Prepare and present technical reports and project updates to stakeholders.
Project Management Support
* Assist senior engineers and project managers in coordinating project schedules and budgets.
* Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project leaders.
* Contribute to the preparation of project proposals and bids.
Qualifications
Educational Background:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Relevant coursework or internships in civil engineering projects is preferred.
Professional Experience
* 0-5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with a focus on site development, transportation, or municipal infrastructure.
* Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering is a plus.
Licensure And Certification
* Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain EIT within 12 months.
* Commitment to pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
Technical Proficiency
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil engineering design software.
* Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software is advantageous.
* Basic understanding of GIS applications and data management.
