 We're building a user interface designed for effortless, ergonomic collaboration between people and AI across a diverse set of tasks — from managing inboxes and crafting content, to performing complex data analysis, and more. We're looking for an ambitious, talented software engineer who is passionate about delivering exceptional user experiences to help Shortwave reach new heights.
   
  
 The compensation for this role ranges from $160k to $200k salary, with equity between 0.5% and 1%.
   
  
Responsibilities
* Prototype, develop, and iterate on user experiences from start to finish, engaging directly with customers to gather feedback and validating your work through real-world usage.
* Ensure outstanding app quality by proactively identifying and resolving bugs, improving performance, and optimizing for reliability.
* Contribute actively to our frontend component library, enhancing both user experience and team development speed.
* Step up wherever needed — collaborating across our startup to ensure collective success and growth.
Qualifications
* Proven experience building high-quality, intuitive user-facing applications.
* Strong skills in frontend engineering, specifically with Typescript and React.
* Flexibility and capability to contribute throughout our stack as necessary, including backend services and mobile applications.
* A proactive, AI-first mindset, leveraging cutting-edge AI to boost your productivity in coding, research, communication, and more.
* Passionate about delivering exceptional, user-loved products.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Bonus points: Experience developing agentic AI systems or training custom AI models.
