<p><strong>About the Institution:</strong> The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum is an educational and cultural institution that collects, preserves, and interprets transportation modes and regional history, and celebrates the innovations and accomplishments of Glenn Hammond Curtiss. The museum regularly works with premier museum institutions such as the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the Henry Ford Museum, and Cornell University.</p><p><strong>Museum Mission Statement</strong><br>The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum is an educational and cultural institution that collects, preserves, and interprets transportation modes and regional history, and celebrates the innovations and accomplishments of Glenn Hammond Curtiss.</p><p><strong>Job Summary:</strong> The Visitor Services Associate (part-time) delivers high-quality service and hospitality to all guests visiting the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum. Employees are responsible for greeting and orientating guests, sales of Museum Store merchandise, stocking retail sales floor, sales of daily admissions and annual memberships, and other duties as assigned. Weekend and occasional evening hours are required to meet the needs of the Museum and to maintain the guest service standards.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide exceptional customer service to our guests by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, museum exhibit knowledge and all other components of guest service.</li><li>Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and metric accountabilities at POS registers.</li><li>Maintain a clean and safe work environment for our guests and employees, including general custodial work daily: cleaning bathrooms, dusting, cleaning windows & door glass as needed.</li><li>Communicate guest requests to management.</li><li>Any other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Proficiency in cash handling.</li><li>Ability to handle high levels of point-of-sale processing.</li><li>Must be energetic, courteous and professional.</li><li>Must be knowledgeable of all Museum events and exhibits.</li><li>Ability to retain information on all promotions, events, and discounts affecting ticket prices.</li><li>Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.</li><li>Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.</li><li>Ability to stand for periods of up to eight (8) hours.</li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, kneel in order to address machine needs (printer paper, ticket control, etc.).</li><li>Ability to work varied hours/days/holidays as business dictates.</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li>Museum Store Discounts</li></ul><p><strong>Job Type:</strong> Part-time</p><p><strong>Pay:</strong> $15.00 per hour</p><p><strong>Expected hours:</strong> 16 – 24 per week</p><p><strong>Schedule:</strong> 8 hour shift, Holidays, Weekends as needed</p><p><strong>Experience:</strong> Hotel experience: 1 year (Preferred)</p><p><strong>Ability to Commute:</strong> Hammondsport, NY 14840 (Required)</p><p><strong>Ability to Relocate:</strong> Hammondsport, NY 14840: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)</p><p><strong>Work Location:</strong> In person</p>
