<p><strong>Our Mission:</strong> Since the 1893 World Columbian Exposition, our organization has aimed to connect people to the natural environment and human history. Join our dynamic Individual Giving team as the Leadership Annual Giving Manager, a vital role in driving forward the mission of the Field Museum. This position will lead the process for managing, tracking, and executing solicitation strategies for leadership annual donors ($500+), including donors under major gift management and Trustees. Support our annual unrestricted philanthropy program with your strategic insights and creative solutions.</p><p>As part of this role, you'll report to the Director of Individual Giving and Auxiliary Groups and work alongside the entire Individual and Major Gifts team to support fundraising strategies. You'll have the responsibility of running creative acquisition and renewal campaigns (via mail, email, and phone), creating customized proposals and donor communications, managing special donor benefits, and planning and executing donor events.</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead and execute comprehensive solicitation calendar for unrestricted donors contributing up to $10,000 or more.</li><li>Manage data review process, craft compelling appeal communications, and coordinate seamlessly with external vendors to ensure every campaign runs smoothly and effectively.</li><li>Manage custom proposal process for donors under major gifts management, including Trustee unrestricted contributions, and collaborate with Auxiliary Boards office to support solicitation strategies for leadership volunteers.</li><li>Ensure all teams are meeting financial and participation goals for unrestricted contributions.</li><li>Skillfully craft and manage details of custom proposals and personalized solicitation strategies for nuanced requests, as well as proposals for high-capacity donors and prospects.</li><li>Manage the fulfillment of donor society benefits, including regularly updating donor concierge service resources for Individual and Major Giving team.</li><li>Utilize Raiser’s Edge database to generate regular reports and analyses on progress to department fundraising goals and specific appeals, import data to update proposal and constituent records, and pull data queries and exports for the team.</li><li>Lead gift officers and advancement team members through the annual Proposal Management strategy development and implementation process.</li><li>Coordinate data segmentation and database tracking, and facilitate regular updates to proposal strategies throughout the year.</li><li>Engage in various stewardship activities, including coordinating and facilitating in-person and virtual events, leading exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, and promptly responding to donor phone and email inquiries.</li><li>Manage email solicitations and occasional general communications content. Coordinate with Marketing to send to the donor base.</li><li>Continuously benchmark and implement best practices across peer institutions, and use your proactive approach to improve our fundraising strategies.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.</li><li>3+ years in Annual Giving within a cultural institution.</li><li>3+ years of project management experience.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.</li><li>Prior fundraising database experience, preferably Raiser’s Edge.</li><li>Excellent writing and storytelling skills.</li><li>Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail.</li><li>Comfort managing and working with data.</li><li>Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.</li><li>Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Familiarity with Google business suite, InDesign, and Powerpoint.</li><li>Energetic and patient team player with a proactive attitude.</li><li>Collaborative, team-oriented nature suited for large institutions.</li><li>Ability to identify department needs and establish new procedures.</li><li>Genuine interest in the Museum, fundraising, and event planning.</li><li>Passion for science, natural history, and public engagement.</li></ul><p><strong>PLEASE READ:</strong> When you apply for multiple positions, please make sure to delete your previous resume and cover letter and upload the latest version of your resume and cover letter that is relevant to the job you are applying for, every time you apply.
