 The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Research Technician to join our team. The Research Technician will synthesize research materials for the preparation of a vaccine approach towards protection from organophosphorus compounds. The candidate will be involved in the chemical synthesis, analytical characterization, and the biochemical evaluation of small chemical targets towards these goals of a vaccine. The Research Technician will be assisting laboratory personnel in the execution of chemical syntheses and the documentation of experiments, including preparing and extracting samples for laboratory analysis. The Research Technician will also actively participate in weekly lab meetings and attend departmental seminars and other functions. The Research Technician will have basic knowledge of processes and/or tools required for the role through on-the-job experience and training.

 Required: bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline with 1 year of relevant experience in organic chemistry synthesis.

 The pay range for this job profile is $15.70 to $20.67 per hour. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
