   Our client is in search of a DB2 Database Administrator to join their team on a 6+ month long contract that could be extended longer. You will be maintaining the current DB2 system, handling daily scripts, performance tuning, upgrading to new versions, running scripts, deploying changes, and managing user administration are part of the responsibilities.

 <ul>

    The role involves primary database support, including releases/upgrades, query tuning, and troubleshooting.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    Responsibilities include data issue resolution, security implementation, and system performance improvements.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    The position may also involve managing projects and other related duties.
   </em>
  </li>
 </ul>

   Required skills:
  </em>
 </p>
 <ul>
  <li>
   <em>
    DB2 LUW experience, performance monitoring, space management, and database maintenance.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    Familiarity with Rubrik (used with DB2) is a plus.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    Ability to automate tasks using Unix Shell Scripting.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    Strong focus on database security and resolving issues.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    Experience with backup and recovery processes.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    Familiarity with tools like db2pd, db2top, db2advis, and db2explain.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    Exposure to DB2 LUW on both RHEL and AIX is advantageous.
   </em>
  </li>
  <li>
   <em>
    Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2 Mainframe is also beneficial.
   </em>
