 </p>
 <p>
  Meta Reality Labs is seeking a well-rounded Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Redmond, WA! This role is primarily mechanical design and will work on concept, design in CAD, and prototyping. Furthermore, the individual will be working in an inter-disciplinary and collaborative team that works on hardware prototyping for AR/VR products.

   Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
  </strong>
 </p>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Conceptualize and design parts and assemblies for a product, equipment or system involving complex mechanical, electrical and optical components
  </li>
  <li>
   Generate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for parts and assemblies using CAD software (NX preferred)
  </li>
  <li>
   Assign tolerances for the parts and perform tolerance stack analysis
  </li>
  <li>
   Perform DFM/DFA assessments for the design while ensuring they meet functionality, and reliability
  </li>
  <li>
   Assemble devices in-house for low/medium quantities involving mechanical, electrical, and optical components
  </li>
  <li>
   Design, fabricate, and assemble fixtures and other tooling for experiments and prototype assembly/test
  </li>
  <li>
   Document and maintain prototype parts inventory
  </li>
 </ul>

   Must-Have Skills:
  </strong>
 </p>
 <ul>
  <li>
   5+ years of product design &ndash; consumer electronics, medical devices, or systems involving complex mechanical, electrical, and/or optical components
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong with CAD software - NX (preferred), or Solidworks
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience with plastic and metal part design (machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.), or similar
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience with statistical tolerance analysis techniques, and functional dimensioning
  </li>
  <li>
   Knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, and/or glass
  </li>
  <li>
   Hands-on mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly experience. Optical and ESD component assembly and handling experience preferred
  </li>
 </ul>

   Nice-to-Have Skills:
  </strong>
 </p>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Previous experience working in consumer electronics products
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience working on electro-mechanical or opto-mechanical products would be helpful for this role.
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience designing packaging for on camera modules
  </li>
 </ul>

   Educational Experience:

   Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required
  </li>
