  Job Description: Design Engineer (Solar PV Systems)

 The Design Engineer transforms initial solar PV system concepts into comprehensive, construction-ready designs. Engaging across residential, commercial, and utility scale projects, the Design Engineer manages a diverse project portfolio. Collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Sales, regulatory bodies, and customers ensures solutions align with both client needs and industry standards. This role requires relocation.

  Primary Responsibilities
  <br/>
  <br/>
 </strong>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Lead engineering efforts for residential, commercial, and utility scale solar projects.
  </li>
  <li>
   Validate initial system layouts and equipment placements proposed by sales personnel.
  </li>
  <li>
   Develop detailed PV system designs encompassing site plans, mechanical racking and attachment layouts, single-line electrical diagrams, balance of system (BOS) configurations, interconnection specifics, and labeling requirements.
  </li>
  <li>
   Interface closely with procurement managers to deliver streamlined project data and comprehensive bill of materials.
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide engineering support to operations, service, and sales departments as necessary.
  </li>
  <li>
   Evaluate and recommend optimal design applications and assess alternative products.

  Basic Qualifications
  <br/>
  <br/>
 </strong>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  </li>
  <li>
   Minimum 1 year of experience in design or engineering related to renewable energy (preferred).
  </li>
  <li>
   Additional experience in estimating or designing electrical systems is advantageous.
  </li>
  <li>
   Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
  </li>
  <li>
   Familiarity with PVSyst software is preferred.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  </li>
  <li>
   Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  </li>
  <li>
   Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, and construction practices.
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to prioritize effectively and perform under pressure.
  </li>
  <li>
   Willingness and ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  </li>
  <li>
   Valid driver's license.
