JOB SUMMARY:
This is a Professional Accountant Supervisor- SES supervisory position within the Office of Financial Management Vendor Payment Section at the Department of Revenue in Tallahassee, FL. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising a staff of seven (7) and managing all aspects of the vendor payment process and performing other related duties and special projects as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Three years of professional or non-professional accounting experience.
* One year or more of supervisory experience.
* Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
* Experience with State Expenditures
* Experience with vendor payment functions within FLAIR.
* Experience with MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP)/Ariba on Demand (AOD)
* Experience with Microsoft Excel.
* Experience with Microsoft Word.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or related area can substitute on a year for year basis for the required accounting experience; or any combination of experience and up to 60 semesters or 90 quarter hours of college education provided such education includes two courses in accounting; or possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate.
PREFERENCES:
* Experience with creating and maintaining FLAIR accounts payables and encumbrances.
* Experience processing Certified Forward/Carry Forward transactions in FLAIR.
* Experience with People First as it relates to supervisory duties.
* Experience in processing accounting records or other similar activities that include review and analysis of accounting transactions.
* Experience with expenditure reporting using FLAIR, WebFOCUS and/or MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP)/Ariba on Demand (AOD).
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or related area.
* Two or more years’ experience in supervising professional or nonprofessional accounting personnel.

* This position is in Tallahassee, FL.
