Job Description
Full job description: Title: Transportation Coordinator/ Driver. Base Salary Range: $22/hr to 25/hr. FTE: Full-time. General Summary: The Transportation Coordinator/ Driver is responsible for registering and processing patients for appropriate appointments and services, including, but not limited to scheduling and canceling appointments; and verifying eligibility for specific programs and services. Oversee all transportation logistics to ensure timely patient pick-up and drop-off. * Oversee transportation logistics to ensure timely patient pick-up and drop-off. * Schedules patient appointments and enters required information in the computer system in an accurate and timely manner. * Responds to patient inquiries and efficiently deliver routes and dispatch drivers. * Obtains demographic, insurance, and financial information from patient or guarantor. * Gather, prepare, and maintain the Center’s transportation data. * Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining necessary data, reviewing the Compliance System, communicating information to patient or guarantor, and obtaining necessary signatures. * Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and ensures all notifications and authorizations are completed within the required timeframes. * Daily use of Practice Fusion (EHR) system. * Assist in opening/closing clinic. * Oversee transportation logistics to ensure timely patient pick-up and drop-off. * Prepare and maintain van schedule to ensure increased efficiency. * Work closely with a Patient Coordinator to arrange patients’ pick-up/drop-off. * Assess which transportation is appropriate for each case. Qualifications and Experience:* High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Knowledge of filing systems and medical terminology. * Vocational training in Office Administration preferred. * Demonstrates knowledge of safety, infection control & emergency policies and procedures. * Must have more than 6 years or more clinical experience as a PSR. * Proficiency with NextGen Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. * Valid California License & Automobile Insurance. Skills and Abilities:* Good written, oral and customer service skills. * Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills. * Proficient in MS Office Suite Word, Excel, type 40 wpm. * Ability to handle multiple phone line. * Multi-task and detail-oriented. * Ability to work well in a team environment, remains motivated, is self-directed, and demonstrates initiative.
