Job Description

The Production Manager in an engineering company is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the production process to ensure efficient, high-quality, and timely manufacturing operations. The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising production activities while ensuring that safety, quality, and cost-efficiency standards are met. The Production Manager leads a team of production staff, collaborates with cross-functional departments such as design, procurement, and quality control, and ensures that resources, equipment, and manpower are optimized to meet project deadlines and company objectives.
Key responsibilities include developing production schedules, managing workflows, identifying and resolving production issues, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role also involves budget management, inventory control, and reporting on key performance metrics such as output, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to drive productivity, motivate the workforce, and foster a culture of excellence in production.
The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering background, experience in production management, and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational oversight to achieve business goals and customer satisfaction.
