Job applications for current students will not be considered if submitted through the external career center.</p><p><strong>Position Details</strong></p><p>Information Technology and Security, Media Services at The University of Tampa has a position available for a Media Services Events Technician. This position will be responsible for setting up, staffing, and managing events, as well as training and supervising student employees. They will also be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic classrooms on the campus. This position reports to the Director of User Services which is part of Information Technology Operations.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Setup and operate Audio Visual equipment for the implementation of educational programs, including seminars, special presentations, and programs in the different college venues.</li><li>Coordinate and schedule department resources for events (equipment, personnel, etc.).</li><li>Supervise and train student employees.</li><li>Maintain, repair, and oversee repairs of AV classroom and event equipment.</li><li>Work with university and community members to identify needs for events held at university venues.</li><li>Prepare information for the purchase of new equipment, and keeps supervisor informed of the need for equipment or services; maintains a current inventory of all event equipment.</li><li>Monitor and adjust equipment during events to ensure optimal performance and address any technical issues that may arise.</li><li>Collaborate with the event production team to create engaging visual and audio experiences, incorporating graphics, videos, and other multimedia elements.</li><li>Recording of events, ensuring reliable and high-quality video and audio feeds.</li><li>Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.</li><li>Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>AA or AS degree or equivalent experience and two (2) years’ experience setting up and running events from simple meetings to small concerts. Also, minor classroom repairs such as changing projector bulbs and diagnosing problems.</li><li>Strong technical proficiency in audio, video, and lighting systems, including familiarity with industry-standard software and hardware.</li><li>Solid understanding of different media formats, video codecs, and streaming technologies.</li><li>Experience with scheduling equipment for events and supervising students preferred.</li><li>Experience training subordinates and peers.</li><li>Knowledge of operation and maintenance of basic media equipment (i.e.: sound systems, microphones and mixing boards, LCD projectors, video recorders and players, cameras, laptop computers, etc.).</li><li>Knowledge of computer skills (PC/MAC platforms, i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point).</li><li>Ability to create and maintain training material using PC or Mac.</li><li>Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to support events as needed.</li><li>Ability to work within a collaborative environment under occasional stressful conditions.</li><li>Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.</li><li>Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.</li><li>Physical ability to lift and move equipment, set up staging, and perform other physically demanding tasks.</li><li>Customer-focused attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality media and AV services.</li></ul><p><strong>Work Schedule (will flex sometimes)</strong></p><ul><li>Events Monday-Friday, 11am-8pm (some flexibility required based on events)</li><li>Flexible on weekends, required One Sunday a month for Open House.</li><li>Classroom Monday-Friday, 11am-8pm</li></ul><p><strong>The University of Tampa offers great benefits to include:</strong></p><ul><li>FREE Tuition</li><li>Generous paid leave</li><li>Wellness initiatives</li><li>100% Employer-Funded Health Reimbursement Account</li><li>100% Employer-Paid Short & Long Term Disability Insurance</li><li>100% Employer-Funded Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Discounted On-Campus Dining Meal Plans</li><li>FREE On-Campus Parking</li><li>FREE Access to Campus Amenities (pool, library, campus events and more)</li><li>Fitness Center</li><li>Pet Insurance</li><li>Flexible Spending Accounts</li><li>And more!</li></ul><p>The University of Tampa is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
