<p><strong>Requisition ID:</strong> 158984</p><p><strong>Job Category:</strong> Maintenance / Construction / Operations</p><p><strong>Job Level:</strong> Individual Contributor</p><p><strong>Business Unit:</strong> Operations - Other</p><p><strong>Work Type:</strong> Onsite</p><p><strong>Job Location:</strong> Antioch</p><h3>Department Overview</h3><p>Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our nearly 900 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and more than 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E’s successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County. Gateway Generating Station is the first new fossil construction project in PG&E’s recent history. It is a modern technology combined cycle power plant featuring 2 GE 7FA combustion turbines and a GE D-11 steam turbine for a combined output of 530 MW. The facility also has an additional 60 MW of peaking capability. Gateway is a natural gas fueled facility with an air-cooled condenser. It is in Antioch, CA.</p><h3>Position Summary</h3><p>This is an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. This job is subject to collective bargaining. Performs general electrical maintenance to include, but not limited to:</p><ul><li>The wiring and disconnection of motors</li><li>Replacement of thermocouples and fuses</li><li>Pulling wire and performing electrical checks</li><li>Troubleshoot electrical process systems</li><li>Repair and configure process transmitters, controllers, VFDs etc.</li></ul><p>Reads and interprets mechanical flow diagrams, P&ID’s, and electrical single-line and wiring diagrams. Read and interprets hydraulic systems. Assists staff with the ordering of parts and inventory control. Applies safe work practices and participation in the station’s clearance procedures and performs data input into the work management system. Reviews and updates plant procedures to assure information is current and accurate. This position primarily works weekday day shift but may work weekends or overtime to support the needs of the plan. This position may require ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts.</p><h3>Cognitive Requirements</h3><ul><li><strong>Reasoning:</strong> Requires the ability to use judgment and reasoning in carrying out job duties.</li><li><strong>Decision:</strong> Requires the ability to make decisions and take direction to/from others.</li></ul><h3>Physical Requirements</h3><ul><li><strong>Heavy Work:</strong> Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</li><li><strong>Balancing:</strong> Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.</li><li><strong>Carrying:</strong> Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands, arms or on the shoulder.</li><li><strong>Climbing:</strong> Ascending or descending ladders, stairs scaffolding, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.</li></ul><p>PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The starting wage rate for this position is $64.21 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. The wage rate is based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Minimum:</strong></p><ul><li>Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience</li><li>Must possess a valid California Driver's License or equivalent by day 1 of hire</li><li>Ability to work in all types of weather extremes</li><li>Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions</li><li>Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays</li><li>Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)</li><li>Minimum 5 years of Power Plant Electrical Maintenance or equivalent experience: such as Journey level electrical technician with 5 years of experience as a journeyman in heavy industry or processes</li></ul><p><strong>Desired:</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to read blue prints and troubleshoot systems</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of SAP</li><li>Demonstrated work experience as a qualified Electrical Worker for up to 13.8 KV equipment.</li><li>Demonstrated advanced oral and written communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player</li><li>Demonstrated technical skills and experience with Microsoft Office products and programs</li><li>Demonstrated GE Mark VI Programming/troubleshooting</li><li>Demonstrated Emerson Ovation Programming/troubleshooting</li><li>Demonstrated PLC Programming/troubleshooting</li></ul><h3>Responsibilities</h3><p>Electrical – Journey level technician with 5 years of experience as a journeyman. Power plant or similar industry experience is preferred. Duties include safely performing electrical work using all types of precision meters and instrumentation and is engaged in testing, repairing, installing, and maintaining all types of electrical equipment at various voltage levels. Tasks may include but not be limited to the following:</p><ul><li>High and low voltage circuit testing</li><li>Troubleshooting and repair</li><li>Motor and electrical component installation</li><li>Relay testing, calibration and setting</li><li>Station battery maintenance</li><li>Motor control center breaker maintenance</li><li>Electrical trip testing</li><li>Generator testing and maintenance</li><li>Breaker maintenance</li><li>Electrical switching</li><li>Maintaining accurate prints and drawings</li><li>Insulation and wiring</li><li>Job planning, research and documentation</li><li>Predictive, planned, and corrective maintenance</li></ul>
