<h3>Description of Duties:</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with faculty researchers to understand their specific requirements and assist in translating them into effective and innovative AI solutions.</li><li>Provide consultation on the design, development, implementation, and optimization of AI applications and solutions, catering to the diverse needs of faculty researchers across various research disciplines</li><li>Work collaboratively with System Administrators and Research Analysts to troubleshoot and resolve incidents and challenges related to AI applications.</li><li>Proactively maintain and enhance the security posture of assigned systems and applications, adhering to ITS standards and industry best practices.</li><li>Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI to provide recommendations to faculty researchers on adopting new development technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance research outcomes.</li><li>Establish and actively contribute to the implementation of AI development standards and best practices.</li><li>Be available to provide scheduled support and consultation outside normal business hours, including occasional evenings, holidays, or weekends, within reasonable professional obligation and expectation.</li></ul><h3>Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.</li><li>A minimum of 5 years of relevant AI, data science, or research experience.</li><li>Programming fluency in Python and one or more other programming languages such as C++, Node.js, Java or R with a deep understanding of algorithms and software development.</li><li>Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.</li><li>Proven understanding of data processing techniques, statistics, feature engineering, and AI model validation and training.</li><li>Proficiency in scalable and parallel programming in an AI context, utilizing frameworks such as CUDA, OpenACC, OpenMP, MPI, pthreads, etc.</li><li>Solid understanding of CPU and GPU architecture fundamentals.</li><li>Experience developing and implementing solutions leveraging Large Language Models such as LLaMa 2, GPT-4, and Claude 2.</li><li>Applicants must clearly address their ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.</li><li>Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role.</li></ul><h3>Preferred Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>A PHD from a college or University accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Quantitative Social Sciences, or related STEM field.</li><li>Previous experience working or collaborating with academic research teams.</li><li>Expertise in parallelization and performance optimization of AI applications and machine learning algorithms.</li><li>Knowledge of relevant cloud computing platforms and associated AI services such as IBM Cloud, NVIDIA DGX Cloud, Azure, Google, AWS.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Information: Salary Range</strong>: $115,000-125,000 (annual)</p><p><strong>Subject to change, this position may be eligible for up to 50% alternative workplace arrangement after a probationary period.</strong></p>
