Job Description

<h3>Summary/Objective</h3><p>The Accounts Receivable Accountant position assists in ensuring that Noble Gas Solutions’ (“Noble”) receives payment for goods and services offered to its customers. This role reports to the Accounting Manager and has no direct reports.</p><h3>Essential Functions</h3><ul><li>Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.</li><li>Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.</li><li>Answer incoming calls and respond to emails related to customer billing issues.</li><li>Maintains and updates customer files, including account creation, reference checks, name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.</li><li>Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.</li><li>Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.</li><li>Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of other staff members.</li><li>Collaborates with the Accounting Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a monthly basis.</li><li>Assists in generating and mailing monthly billing statements.</li><li>Assists Accounting Manager in reconciling revenue accounts each month.</li><li>Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.</li><li>Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.</li><li>Provide direct support to the Accounting Manager and Controller for all current and upcoming projects.</li><li>Performs other related tasks as assigned.</li></ul><h3>Competencies</h3><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.</li><li>Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculators, and copier.</li><li>Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</li></ul><h3>Education, Experience & Certification</h3><p>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or a comparable equivalent number of years of experience required plus two years of accounting experience preferred.</p><h3>Preferred Education and Experience</h3><p>Experience within the industrial or medical gases industry.</p><h3>Supervisory Responsibility</h3><p>The Accounts Receivable Accountant position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for those in the entry level accounting roles.</p><h3>Work Environment</h3><p>This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer equipment, phones, scanners, copiers, and fax machines.</p><h3>Physical Demands</h3><p>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time and file, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.</p><h3>Position Type and Expected Hours of Work</h3><p>This is a full-time position. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.</p><h3>Exemption Classification</h3><p>Salary.
