<h3>Enterprise Database Services Senior Oracle Database Engineer</h3><p>Please note, candidates must be local to a Cigna employee office.</p><p>Enterprise Database Services is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Engineer to partner and help drive the vision of providing a best in industry array of database platform offerings that align with Cigna’s business needs across the enterprise and provide them in a secure and automated way.</p><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>Provides counsel and advice to management and Engineers on significant Database Administration & Management matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.</li><li>Collaborate with Stakeholders, Tech lead and Team members to discuss the requirements and implement in an efficient way.</li><li>Analyzes, designs, creates and implements solutions for complex environment including automated installation, configuration, maintenance and operation of all infrastructure services in a way that supports speed, agility, security and resiliency.</li><li>Interprets internal or external issues and recommends solutions/best practices.</li><li>Liaisons with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems and potential solutions.</li><li>May participate in vendor selection and relationship management.</li><li>Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.</li><li>Automate configuration management and deployments using Ansible playbooks and YAML for resource declaration, creating roles and updating Playbooks to provision Infrastructure.</li><li>Use Ansible Tower for scheduling playbooks and used GIT repository to maintain and store the playbooks.</li><li>Build, maintain and monitor configuration standards.</li><li>Document and design various Infrastructure automation processes; update existing automation processes.</li><li>Configuring metrics and alerts for monitoring and develop ways to improve.</li><li>Recognized internally as "the go-to person" for the most complex Database Administration solutions.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>8+ years of relevant experience and knowledge of Oracle database administration is required, other database technologies like PostgreSQL, MongoDB is a plus.</li><li>Must have hands-on Oracle 19c experience with latest tuning and optimization techniques</li><li>In-depth knowledge in OS and Storage internals that influence database activity.</li><li>Hands-on Oracle DB upgrade experience, Oracle 11g/12c to 19c</li><li>Expertise in Exadata, Oracle 19c, Oracle RAC, and ASM in Linux is required.</li><li>Expertise in database performance monitoring and tuning skills, SQL and Stored-Procedure tuning.</li><li>Excellent PL/SQL and SQL PLUS development and tuning skills are a must.</li><li>Skilled at both logical and system levels desired.</li><li>3+ years of hands-on experience with Automation tools and technologies like Ansible, Ansible Tower, GitHub, and Application program Interfaces etc.</li><li>Experience with AWS, Azure or other cloud technologies required.</li><li>Strong detailed analytical skills</li><li>Ability to stay very organized while managing multiple tasks and activities</li><li>Takes initiative and is a self-starter</li><li>Dealing with ambiguity and problem solving</li><li>Adapt communication style for the audience and topics</li><li>Exemplary Written and Verbal Communications</li></ul>
