 The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Segment Producer for our Programming department at the Headquarters office in Springfield, VA. MBN is a non-profit grantee of the federal government that directly communicates with the people of the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio, and digital media. MBN's mission is to provide objective, accurate, and relevant news, and information to the people of the Middle East about the region, the world, and the United States in support of U.S. public diplomacy.

 The Segment Producer is responsible for conceiving, producing, compelling political investigative business and human-interest stories / segments and takes care of all audiovisual aspects of the show production insuring the highest standards of production for multiplatform. Research, develop and pitch stories that reflect the ambitious and unique sensibility of the content.

  SPECIFIC DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

 Duties and responsibilities noted below are considered the essential functions of the job.

 <ul>
  <li>
   Produce quality content from conception to execution for MBN platforms.
  </li>
  <li>
   Communicates daily story development with producer, Senior Producer and Sr Executive Producer.
  </li>
  <li>
   Delivers of segments as directed by the senior staff.
  </li>
  <li>
   Concept development for design, graphics, evaluation, storytelling, and sound.
  </li>
  <li>
   Offers feedback on the quality of our segments and fills in when needed on multiple shows.
  </li>
  <li>
   Develop segment concepts (long and short), have concepts approved, and execute the segments professionally.
  </li>
  <li>
   Work with writers and producers on script development and format.
  </li>
  <li>
   Supervise and coordinate all preproduction planning related to TV or digital materials.
  </li>
  <li>
   Create content used on many platforms.
  </li>
  <li>
   Proactively makes decisions in the field, edit room and in the office with department-wide and company-wide ramifications in mind (budget, PR, legal, etc.)
  </li>
  <li>
   Ensures all production elements are of high production value and meet editorial standards.
  </li>
  <li>
   To be in control room during airing of live segment looking out for live feeds, story line up and reviews of audio-visual material before recording/airtime.
  </li>
  <li>
   Takes part in planning.
  </li>
  <li>
   Ensures timely availability of important resources, talent, and equipment.
  </li>
  <li>
   Assists on new innovative projects and initiatives when directed.

  QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  <br/>
  <br/>
 </strong>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in journalism/broadcast journalism.
  </li>
  <li>
   At least 3-5 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc.).
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience producing programs segments with proven solid visual creative talent in production, and image sequences and grammar.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong project management skills required to ensure product meets objectives while maintaining budget and schedule targets.
  </li>
  <li>
   Excellent Arabic verbal and written communication skills.
  </li>
  <li>
   Exhibits quality shot making and graphic/visual sense.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong editorial judgement.
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment including overnight coverage.
