<p>LACERA is now accepting applications for the position of Legal Analyst. The Legal Analyst will report to the Investments and Commercial Transactions Section of the Legal Division. This position will be part of a team of attorneys, legal analysts, and secretarial support that provide legal advice and representation on investment issues as well as transactional support to LACERA and its Boards of Retirement and Investments, the Executive Office, the Investment Division, and other divisions as needed in investing the pension plan assets to provide benefits to members and their beneficiaries.</p><p>Issues will include interpretation of state regulations, AML/KYC rules, the Internal Revenue Code, and other tax rules, registration requirements with regulatory agencies, policies, and procedures that may affect the pension plan and its investments as part of a complex global portfolio.</p><p>The position will involve research, analysis, troubleshooting, and responding to internal client requests. It will also involve:</p><ul><li>Filling out investment related questionnaires, forms, and registrations</li><li>Maintaining title holding entities in the real estate portfolio</li><li>Drafting minutes and resolutions</li><li>Assisting with investment closings</li><li>Managing tax returns and applying for tax exemptions</li><li>Submitting country registrations and powers of attorney to custodians</li><li>Processing invoices and keeping logs and spreadsheets updated</li></ul>
