  Markarian, a New York City based luxury fashion brand, is looking for a  Associate Technical Designer who will assist the Designer and Production Manager in the planning, coordination, and quality control of the manufacturing of our Ready-to-Wear and Bridal collections. We're seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic individual with 3-5 years of experience in a technical apparel design role. The Associate Technical Designer

   is responsible for supporting the execution of the design aesthetic and fit direction.

  This is an in-person role based at Markarian's production office in the Garment District of New York City.

  <strong>
   Responsibilities:
  </strong>
 </p>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Prepare technical specification packages with garment construction details for our manufacturing partners
  </li>
  <li>
   Assist in all fit sessions necessary to achieve final approvals.
  </li>
  <li>
   Prepare and measure garments prior to fitting.
  </li>
  <li>
   Take detailed notes in fit sessions, complete technical reports post fitting.
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide vendors with additional corrective action recommendations illustrated by photos, diagrams, and email communication.
  </li>
  <li>
   Sketch out and ascertaining pattern corrections.
  </li>
  <li>
   Simultaneously organize and track product movement across multiple seasons.
  </li>
  <li>
   Act as the liaison for communication between merchants, product development and design.
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide technical recommendations and resolutions for fit and construction issues.
  </li>
  <li>
   Track fit samples.
  </li>
  <li>
   Provide input to the sourcing and design teams regarding vendor&rsquo;s capabilities of meeting technical design standards.
  </li>
  <li>
   Adhere to the department standards and best practices for product fit and process compliance.

   Job Requirements:
  </strong>
 </p>
 <ul>
  <li>
   A degree in Apparel Design, Technical Design or Fashion Design.
  </li>
  <li>
   3 to 5 years&rsquo; experience in technical design, production, design, and/or product development
   <span>
    in a contemporary or luxury market.
   </span>
  </li>
  <li>
   Working knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, basic grading, and vendor/factory communication.
  </li>
  <li>
   Working knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft Office Programs and
   <span>
    Adobe Suite, primarily Illustrator and Photoshop.
   </span>
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to take initiative and multi-task to meet the demands of our growing business as well as being extremely detail oriented.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form. Fluency in Mandarin or Korean is advantageous.
  </li>
