ASSISTANT ACCOUNTING MANAGER
  
Job Summary:
Assist the Accounting Manager in overseeing the financial operations of Pacific Rim and affiliated entities. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results. Overseeing regulatory reporting and compliance.
  
The Assistant Accounting Manager provides managerial, functional and technical process leadership. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
  
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Assist the Accounting Manager in managing the organization’s accounting functions.
* Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with established best practices.
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
* Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
* Support the Accounting Manager in the development of budgets and financial forecasts and monitor actual performance against budgeted targets.
* Assists in training and development of accounting staff and delegates duties to meet departmental and organizational goals.
* Assist in providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
* Participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by the Accounting Manager or senior management, which may involve financial analysis, system implementations, or process improvements.
* Work with Accounting Manager in developing and monitoring business performance metrics including immediate and future strategies for the organization.
* Utilize accounting IT systems to facilitate processes and maintain records.
* Assist in Identifying areas for process improvement within the accounting function and contribute to the implementation of new procedures or systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and analysis of financial data.
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies, and stay updated on changes in accounting regulations.
* Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  
Skills & Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
* Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience
* CPA/CMA certification
* Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations.
* Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
* Accounting, auditing and corporate finance experience.
* Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
* Expert level proficiency in an ERP system
* Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF formulas)
