Job Description

<h3>Established in 1948, The Mission of ASCEND Mental Wellness is to improve the quality of life for those affected by mental illness and to promote the awareness and importance of mental well being in the community.</h3><p>ASCEND is currently looking to fill the position of Director of Human Resources. This individual will oversee human resources functions for our staff located in program sites in both Warren and Washington counties. We are looking for a professional who will be an advocate for both our staff and our agency each day. Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills are required while maintaining an open door policy with our staff.</p><p>ASCEND offers a comprehensive benefit package including healthcare benefits, retirement plan enrollment, and paid time off including holidays, vacation, personal and sick time. Salary based on qualifications.</p><p>A sign-on bonus is also offered for this position!</p><h3>Duties include, but are not limited to:</h3><ul><li>Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to assist Corporate Compliance Officer in assuring Agency compliance with all Federal and State regulations pertaining to all personnel matters, and ensuring necessary communication to Agency Leaders, employees, volunteers, and interns of new or changed matters.</li><li>Administer Agency recruitment, hiring, and retention functions.</li><li>Oversight of agency communications related to social media, fundraising, community relations and donor management</li><li>Direct, coordinate, recommend, evaluate and participate in staff development for Agency, including new employee orientations and onboarding activities.</li><li>Maintain all personnel and training records, including that of Agency volunteers and interns.</li><li>Administers staff satisfaction surveys and employs all necessary follow up and corrective actions.</li><li>Direct and manage benefits administration for Agency employees.</li><li>Maintain oversight of employee performance evaluation procedures.</li><li>Administer employee separation of employment exit processes.</li><li>Manage internal employee relations.</li><li>Conduct investigations related to personnel matters when necessary</li><li>Function as liaison for the Agency’s Employee Assistance Program provider and Drug Free Workplace Program and Human Resources consultants/ attorneys.</li><li>Monitor the tracking of OSHA-required data.</li><li>Assist and advise Agency leadership in carrying out responsibilities regarding personnel matters.</li><li>Participate in the Agency’s senior management responsibilities, including organizational development, strategic planning and reporting.</li><li>Lead the development of department goals, objectives, and systems.</li><li>Assist with Agency event planning.</li></ul><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>Bachelor's degree with at least five years of Human Resources experience or equivalent experience.
