<div> <p> Freeman+Leonard is looking for a Sleepwear Designer for a fashion client </p> <p> This is an onsite role in Midtown Manhattan </p> <p> <br/> </p> <p> Our client’s Design team is responsible for establishing the trends, color, and style direction for our seasonal and customer-driven lines. They create apparel designs to be shared with internal teams during trend presentations, and external teams at buyer meetings. Once orders are placed, the Design team project manages and oversees the sample development and production process in conjunction with cross-functional partners. </p> <p> <br/> </p> <p> We are looking for a Sleepwear Designer to join the contemporary brand team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion, a keen eye for trends, and a demonstrated ability to mold junior designers. Additionally, this person must be able to execute these essential responsibilities: </p> <ul> <li> Collaborate with the Design Director on the direction for the styling, fabrication, and color development of multiple intimates categories, and to produce seasonal trend and color concepts. </li> <li> Shop the market and oversee sourcing for new and innovative fabrics, trims, and technology. </li> <li> Design and recommend product lines with consideration given to trend, silhouettes, and cost of goods. </li> <li> Understand and incorporate market intelligence and business strategy into product design </li> <li> Independently produce development concepts and oversee execution of sampling. </li> <li> Prepare for, attend, and present at internal meetings and external buyer meetings. </li> <li> Present seasonal concept trend, print, and color to senior team. </li> <li> Project manage and oversee the sample development and production process. </li> <li> Attend fittings and provide comments from a design perspective for all relevant product categories. </li> <li> Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Sales, Production and Graphics) through communication and problem solving. </li> <li> Oversee junior design team, (possible direct reports), evaluate performance, and foster growth. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> Job Requirements & Qualifications </p> <ul> <li> 5+ years’ working experience in design and a degree in Fashion or related field. </li> <li> Must have knowledge of garment construction and category specific fabrications. </li> <li> Ability to work across multiple brands / customers. </li> <li> Proficiency in Photoshop, & Illustrator, Microsoft Excel a plus. </li> <li> Strong communication and presentation skills. </li> <li> Management or mentorship experience is required. </li> <li> Willingness and availability to travel overseas for sourcing and development and other business needs. </li> <li> Must be organized and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. </li> <li> Effective overseas e-mail communication. </li> <li> Positive attitude and a team player. </li> </ul> </div>
