 Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  Responsibilities

 <ul>
  <li>
   Prepare and examine financial records, statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements
  </li>
  <li>
   Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and following up on outstanding payments
  </li>
  <li>
   Reconcile bank statements, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
  </li>
  <li>
   Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, highlighting key insights and providing recommendations for improvement
  </li>
  <li>
   Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and process improvement
  </li>
  <li>
   Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing input and insights based on historical data and market trends
  </li>
  <li>
   Maintain and update general ledger accounts and perform month-end and year-end closing procedures
  </li>
  <li>
   Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper recording and classification of financial transactions
  </li>
  <li>
   Assist with audits and tax preparations, providing supporting documents and explanations as needed
  </li>
  <li>
   Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and recommend process enhancements.

 Requirements&middot; Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance.
 <br/>
 <br/>
 <ul>
  <li>
   ICAN certification would be an added advantage.
  </li>
  <li>
   Proven work experience as an Accountant in a similar role.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  </li>
  <li>
   Proficiency in accounting software Sage One Cloud Accounting and MS Office (advanced Excel skills preferred).
  </li>
  <li>
   Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines.
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  </li>
  <li>
   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  </li>
  <li>
   High level of integrity and ethical standards.

 Interface with clients and regulatory agencies: FIRS, LIRS, NSITF, ITF, DPR, NAPIMS, etc.
